Spring 2014 Phlight Club – March 6th-9th

Bridging Exploration Institute Monday August 5 – Wednesday August 7. Register Now!

Attention Fall 2013 Ninth graders – Bridging Exploration Institute

What:  This special three-day event is specifically designed to meet the needs of Fall 2013 ninth graders transitioning to high school.  Many fun activities will be included both indoors and outdoors that will help successfully bridge students from middle school to high school.  Included in these activities are leadership skills, study skills, career exploration, many fun games/activities, and planning for the high school experience and beyond.  Please download and submit your registration here.

When: Monday, August 5 – Wednesday, August 7.  Students will travel from their village Monday morning and return Wednesday evening.  Students from Voznesenk and Razdolna will travel each day by bus.  Ninilchik students may have bus service or be able to spend the night depending on registration numbers.  A detailed daily schedule with all information including bus and plane schedule will be mailed at the end of July to those who register.

Who:  Current Fall 2013 ninth grade students.

Costs:  Free of charge:  transportation, meals, and lodging provided

Accommodations & Bus:  Windjammer Suites for students from Nanwalek, Port Graham and Tyonek.  Students from Razdolna, and Voznesenka will be provided bus transportation daily.  Ninilchik students may have bus service or be able to spend the night depending on registration numbers.

DJ Eagle Bear Vanas – June 12 @ 6:30 PM

 

Project GRAD Kenai Peninsula welcomes author and storyteller D.J. “Eagle Bear” Vanas for a public presentation Wednesday, June 12 at 6:30 pm at Pioneer Hall on the Kachemak Bay Campus. Come one, come all for this motivating and uplifting presentation.


Create Your Future Mask Art Show – June 7

Project GRAD Kenai Peninsula presents the Create Your Future Mask Art Show at Homer Council on the Arts.  Opening is during First Friday, June 7, 2013 from 5 – 7:00 PM.  Please come by and support youth from Nanwalek, Ninilchik, Port Graham, Razdolna and Tebughna Schools.

Come by the school gym and Make your own personal Mask!

All ages including adult are encouraged to attend.

Prepare to get messy, wear old clothes!

The number one request from youth is to have healthy, fun, and engaging activities youth do WITH AN ADULT.

Each student and adult will have the opportunity to create a mask showing their energy.  We encourage each student to bring an adult with them to help create their piece of art. 

 The art mask will be shown at Port Graham’s Spring Open House and June 2013 Homer Art Show

(masks will be returned to the artist after June 2013)
